Kilo is a Siamese tabby mix who joined our family 10 years ago after meeting him at a local cat rescue. He was a tiny, nervous ball of fur, and we knew he was coming home with us the moment we saw him. He joined myself (Erin), my husband, and our other cat and completed our little home.
Kilo is goofy, happy, and loving. He loves catnip toys, bird watching, napping with his human and cat family, reading (really just sitting on the books we are reading), and any kind of treats. Mealtime and treat time are his absolute favorite - he will tell you when it’s time by chirping and trilling until he is satisfied. That is how we knew something wasn’t quite right with him. For the last 2 months, he had stopped completing his meals, sometimes walking away completely. We tried changing his foods and feeding schedules, had 2 rounds of bloodwork done, took X-rays, and tried treating him supportively at home. When he continued to lose weight and was still showing us he didn’t feel good, we scheduled an abdominal ultrasound.
We had this ultrasound done on 7/3/2025 and found what is likely a splenic mass. The specialist took samples of the mass while Kilo was sedated. Unfortunately, those results were inconclusive, and now we are going to pursue a splenectomy.
We are looking for support to help pay for Kilo’s surgery and give him a chance to live. We are meeting with the surgeon on 7/9/2025 to go over scheduling and pricing. An estimate will be provided once we have one in hand.
Kilo has been the glue that has held us together during some really difficult times and we just want to provide a fighting chance for him to get better.
If you are able to help, it would mean the world to us - no amount is too small to help us reach our goal.
Thank you! - Erin, Joe, Kilo, and Casanova
