Help Ki’Gech Wilson car accident with Brain Injury

After being in the intensive care unit at the hospital for 6 days and no significant changes, we humbly make this request,

ON the evening of July 4th after lighting fireworks with her mom and stepdad at the Airport, Kigech and her younger brother, Lonnie Wilson II were only a mile from home and going to check on her Father. Due to circumstances beyond her control (alcohol or drugs were not a factor)her jeep lost control and rolled several times without a top on, she was ejected from the vehicle . At some point she had a stroke while she was knocked conscious. Her brother was stuck in the jeep while it rolled. Lonnie sustained a concussion, major bruises but nothing was broken and was released from the hospital on July 7th after complaining of pain and being admitted a second time to the ER. On the other hand, Kigech is lucky to be alive. Although Kigech sustained a major concussion, internal bleeding from liver being torn, broken ribs, fractured foot & pelvis, bruised lungs, irregular heart rate, blood clots and tramatic brain injury and amnesia with delayed sensory and motor skills. Her speech is short and aggressive because of her brain injury. Her Long Term memory is there but she does not remember a month prior to the accident. Every time she goes to sleep, her daily memory is erased and she resets and starts a new day with a new memory. She is in a lot of pain. Her vision is blurry in the right eye or how her face has paralysis due to the head trauma. We have a big sign next to her that says what is today and how many days has it been since this horrible nightmare all began. Many tests are not being ran on her because she only has Partnership for Medical Insurance. She only worked PT at Coast Central Credit Union and did not have medical insurance. Right now we are fighting the hospital for her "Quality of Care ". She needs a lot more care and this is just the beginning. We believe that with the best medical care, she can beat this but if she stays at St. Joesph Hospital where they have no neuro ophthalmologist or neurologist, she may not recover to the best of her ability and she needs TBI Rehab and OF Course payment is also a very important factor and not every Medical Facility wants a Medical/Partnership.

Kigech Wilson is only 20 years old and lifetime resident of Hoopa. She is a Hoopa Tribal Member with Yurok and Karuk Descent. She is the daughter of Lonnie Wilson (Karen Spencer Carl Wilson Paternal Grandparents) and Tahsanchat & Dexter Cooper. (Yvonne/Roger Jackson & Spam/Carolynn Ferris Maternal Grandparents) The sister to Sebastian, Lorenzo and Lonnie. I saw all of this because I want and need your help and sometimes we only help when we know who she belongs to.

So you may think she is ok because she is breathing and not dead but we are not out of the woods yet. She cannot walk and cannot even open chap stick but she can say her name and hold a simple conversation through text. So if you receive a text or phone call from he , please be patient because she only has long term memory. Please dont talk about the car wreck. They say it will or will not get better and we hope the best. It can take several months to a year to a lifetime. We hope for the best.

So we need your help! Kigech cannot be left alone and needs 24/7 which we cannot go to work and need to be with her at all times. The simple things in life are hard for her to do. There are several different doctors/nurses coming in all hours of the day. Money is needed for medical treatment, transportation, lodging to stay with her at the hospital . Due to Covid only two people are allowed to with her each day. Since she is 20 years old, she is not a minor and no one can stay a night. This is ok but now we have to travel to/from the hospital each day. Gas money is needed each day. Some of our family have taken time off without pay are from great distances traveling to/from the hospital to help take care of her because it takes all of us rotating to make her 24/7 care work but also have small children at home. Medical bills need to be paid, Kigech's personal bills, prescriptions co pays, dr visit co pays, travel each day for to and from the hospital because wer you name it and it is happening . This is like a night mare that I am not waking up from. It is so sad to see her like this. We asking if you could donate to help Kitchen.
