Help Kiet Huynh: Support for a Loving Father

Help me Aid my dad Kiet Huynh

Please help me get to Vietnam to visit and comfort my Dad. The most selfless, generous man. He gave everything up to start over in a country he doesn’t know, so we could live free. Only to go back himself 22 years later and find himself struggling there while we live comfortable, safe lives.

My Dad was riding a bicycle and was hit by a motorcyclist in Vietnam in August 2023. He is in a small city 5 hours away from a hospital. Nearby bystanders tried identifying him to finally find his wife and then admit him into an urgent care facility. The facility isn’t equipped to handle this severe of a medical emergency, so hours later they finally removed the plate on his top right brain to relieve the pressure of his brain swelling. When he finally got transferred to the big hospital in the city of Saigon, many doctors lost hope of a recovery for him and induced him into a medical coma. He has since been in and out of the hospital with blood transfusions, etc. Months went by and they took him out of his coma. He has since been awake in a nightmare of pain and suffering. Unable to talk because of a trachea and unable to walk, we are unaware of how much brain activity is available.

Sadly, there hasn’t been any positive evidence in rehabilitation and quality of life. He is coherent but not verbally or physically responsive. It is the most gut-wrenching, awful experience to watch your father suffer. My greatest intention is to fly back home to be by his side and provide him with physical support and comfort of feeling my presence there with him. Also, finding a more comfortable home care for him. He is lying in a metal cot all day with no lift or easy way to bathe him or care for him. It’s never what anyone would want for their loved one. Humbly, I seek monetary support for this special intention; any amount you may be able to spare is greatly appreciated. Prayers are very much appreciated as well, please.

“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
Luke 6:38
