Hello! My name is Kieran and I'm writing on behalf of myself and my wife, Pix. Times are tough, and they've hit us particularly hard. Right now, it's all we can do to pay rent and get food on the table. Because of this, we've had to let our bills fall to the wayside.
I have medical debt, and in two weeks we're going to be taken to small claims court unless we can pay our bill. The bill is for a necessary back surgery I had in 2023. Please understand, we want to pay our bill. We're not neglecting these things because we want to. We're literally struggling to keep housed and fed.
So I am reaching out for help. We're going through our belongings and selling anything that might raise some funds, but it's doubtful we'll raise enough in time by doing this.
Please help if you can. Anything over our requested amount will go toward paying other bills we've had to neglect. Unfortunately, I have gained a lot of medical debt, and I'm still in need of treatment I can't afford. Every dollar will help.
UPDATE
I want to thank everyone who has so generously donated to help offset our legal woes. Unfortunately, the financial hardship has only just begun.
Because Pix's work has changed insurance, more money is being taken out of every paycheck, and now we can no longer afford to live, basically. We've cut everything we can, and we're still looking at cutting access to my doctor (who has been my doctor for over a decade and is the only one I trust) as well as cutting into our grocery bill. Forget extras. We've given up every extra we can.
I don't see a way out of this. As stands. I can't get any medical treatments that might incur a bill, even with insurance. So that means no treatment for my back injury, no physical therapy, no tests for whatever is causing me to wake up so weak and shaky. No bloodwork. Nothing.
I wish there were better news. We're doing everything we can, but we continue to rely on the generosity of others as we try to figure out what to do about our situation. I'm about ready to get my perfume business online, so hopefully that will help ease some of the pressure on us.
In any case, thank you so much for helping us out. You've been lifesavers, and every dollar we get is safety. It's security. There is no way to measure our gratitude.
