Help Kieran and Corbin Care for Susan in Time of Need

Donation protected
Please consider helping this precious family who has been through so much. Susan is a loving mother (and the last surviving parent to Kieran and Corbin) whose life has been completely altered by a re-ruptured brain aneurysm. The financial burden has fallen solely on her kids, one of whom is welcoming her first child in less than two months.

Becoming a mother without the support of your own mother is a difficult enough reality to face, but to have to give critical support in a season when you need it most for yourself is crushing. Anyone who knows Kieran knows that she is generous with her whole life - she lives to pour out to others.

Let’s rally around her, Corbin, and mama Susan, and help lift this untimely and overwhelming financial burden as they are faced with processing the emotional pain of their beloved mama’s medical condition.

All funds will go towards Susan’s care costs, including the recurring costs of her assisted living facility, the costs of sorting all her personal belongings, and all the indefinite expenses Kieran and Corbin will have to swallow in caring for her for the foreseeable future.

Please see the full story below, written directly by Kieran:

If you know anyone in my family, you may know that we have not had the easiest hand. My father died suddenly and unexpectedly when I was ten years old, my mom had a brain aneurysm and almost died in 2016, and now, as of March 13, my mom’s brain aneurysm re-ruptured, almost claiming her life again.

We praise the Lord she is is still alive, but her cognitive function, physical abilities, and vision have been permanently altered. We got a call a week ago that she will need 24hour supervision and assistance with all activities of daily living for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately for my brother, Corbin, and I, nothing was left in order for us to navigate this - leaving the two of us to juggle and figure out her care financially, medically, logistically - and I don’t think either of us has had enough of a break from the stress to even get to the emotional processing that our mother is joyful and alive, but may possibly always need to be in assisted living for the rest of her days. She is young (early 60s). We are young, and never expected this.

Both my brother and I live and work full-time far away from GA (him in TX, me in NY) and I have my first child due in early July.

I am not great at asking for help, especially financially. It is so vulnerable to share a need like this, but financial help would relieve part of the daily, intense stress we both feel and give both my brother and I some time. Time to figure out her care.

For me personally, I cannot even imagine the immense relief I would feel to be able to focus on welcoming Tapawingo staff for the summer and to have my baby without worrying about my mom’s little funds she has running dry.

If you feel led to give, know that it is going to an honorable place and a true need.

May the Lord bless you for reading, considering, and praying for our family.

With love,

Kieran
