Help Kiefer and Teresa Finish and Release their Short Film!

Hello! We are Kiefer and Teresa, two long-time friends and filmmaking colleagues from Vancouver (SFU 2010 represent!).

After many years toiling in the trenches of documentary and corporate media production, we’ve decided to stretch our wings and try our hands at narrative filmmaking.

As a start, we had the privilege of being accepted to Vancouver's Crazy8s Film Competition, and we just wrapped our shoot on our short comedy-drama Toe Pick. Produced and edited by Kiefer and written and directed by Teresa, Toe Pick follows a teenage figure skater who pushes back against the constraints of her conservative sport in the 90s. It will premiere on April 20th 2024.

This was a highly ambitious project (Figure skating! Stunts! Children! A period piece!), and we’re thrilled with what we pulled off in just three days with our limited budget and volunteer cast and crew.

Despite our team's best efforts to keep costs down, we still have a $5000 deficit. This money is needed to pay for left over production expenses, final postproduction changes, and distribution costs.

We're reaching out today to ask for your support in getting this deeply personal, passion project film not only paid off, but also to help pay for upcoming festival submission fees.
