August 18th marks one year since we lost an incredible advocate, educator, technology leader, and compassionate human being.
About My Mom
My mother was truly extraordinary - she held three Master's degrees in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Information Sciences/Computer Science, and served as Director of Employer Verification Services at Experian. But beyond her impressive credentials, she was a passionate advocate for special needs children who believed technology should create bridges, not barriers.
Throughout her life, she inspired me to stand up for those who needed it most and encouraged me to organize meaningful events that create real change. Her principles of accessibility and inclusion shaped everything I do.
Continuing Her Legacy
As someone who recently completed both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Engineering from Case Western School of Engineering (and starting my PhD in Electrical Engineering in September), I understand the power of technology to transform lives.
This past January, I organized a hackathon in her memory that was open to anyone, giving people the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones. Through that event, we raised $10,000 in scholarships based on her name to support education.
Our Mission: Goal - $3,000 by August 18th
Now, as her one-year anniversary approaches, I'm continuing her legacy by supporting technology access for children with special needs in Orange County.
100% of proceeds will support Orange County CHOC Thompson Autism Center providing:
Laptops and tablets for special needs students
Assistive technology for children with autism and developmental disabilities
Educational tech initiatives that create accessibility and inclusion
Transparency Promise
Specific partner organization will be announced once partnership is confirmed. All funds will be donated transparently with receipts provided to donors.
My mom always said technology should empower everyone to reach their potential. Help us honor her memory by ensuring special needs children have the tools they need to shine.
Thank you for helping turn our grief into hope.
In loving memory of Radha Krishnan Vinod - three-time Master's graduate, technology executive, and champion of every child's potential.
