Help Kids reDiscover their Imaginations!

Will you join me in making a difference for our programs during this tumultuous time, and help reDiscover Center emerge even stronger than before?

We are raising money to benefit reDiscover Center in Los Angeles, which develops children's creativity through hands-on making with sustainable materials.

Any donation will help make a huge impact during this time!

Kids in Los Angeles are now feeling more isolated than ever before. Help us keep our Tinkering Programs going, allowing us to pivot to online classes and offer free MakerChat creativity sessions. We plan to reopen our 2,000 sf kids makerspace as soon as possible-but for now we are providing services digitally and we need YOU to help make this happen! We are helping whole families by co-creating custom maker activities that use the reusable and recyclable materials they already have at home.

One of our new projects to help low-income families during this crucial time is the creation of our Tinkering Tool Kits, as well as scholarships to our Online Programs, for low-income youth in our surrounding neighborhoods of Culver City, Palms, Venice and Mar Vista. We believe art and creativity should be an approachable avenue for all. Your donation would go towards creating equal opportunities for every type of tinkerer! There's one in all of us, and starting young could nurture that seed into adulthood. You can feel great about your donation in any amount knowing that you are empowering kids with tools for an independent, creative, and capable future. These Tinkering Tool Kits cost about $60 to create, and will be available to pick-up to those youth who need them.

Tinkering is all about using the materials you have at hand to make something new. reDiscover has 15 years experience turning the contents of your recycling bin into remarkable projects. Our Facilitators are artists, teachers, and community educators, ready to help families get making and tinkering.

Please help us "make" as many Tinkering Tool Kits as we can! Educational resources like the Tinkering Tool Kit belong in the hands of every child. We are working with school districts and our network of community partners to ship Tinkering Tool Kits to low income youth in Los Angeles County ASAP so they can participate in our online programs and grow as self-directed makers during Safer at Home.
