Hi! My name is Alexis Forbes Moorehead. I’m a mom, an award-winning cosmetic formulation chemist, and the founder of Little Curlies, the first kids’ hair care brand specially made for Type 4 curls.

Little Curlies was born from both professional knowledge and deep personal experience. I know what it’s like to feel unsure how to care for your child’s natural hair or even your own. I grew up not liking my own curls. I damaged my hair over and over again, using harsh products and tools, all because I didn’t have the right guidance, products, or confidence.

Now as a mother of 3, I see that same gap still exists , especially for parents of kids with Type 4 curls.

Most children's hair care brands lump all curls together, but that's not how curly hair works. Different curl types have different needs especially Type 4 hair, which is the most delicate and the most underrepresented in kids’ products. Parents end up using adult products on their children's gentle, developing scalps or mixing and matching from several brands just trying to find something that works. It’s frustrating, expensive, and often leads to more harm than good.

That’s why I created Little Curlies, to give parents the right tools, the right information, and the right products from the start.
