Help Kids Compete in MVLA Soccer Tournament
Donación protegida
Hey everyone!
My name is Ernesto Hernandez and am a high school history teacher (ethnic studies and US history this year) and am currently a soccer coach. I am a native of San Jose California and was the first of four in my family to head off to college. I went to San Jose State and then off to Stanford University. I am in my 10th year in the classroom and currently work at Overfelt high in the heart of the Eastside of San Jose.
In addition to teaching, I started coaching an Under 10 youth soccer team this summer on a volunteer basis. We began the summer with three practices a week for two hours each and kept that up through most of this year. Up to this point, we have gotten the kids to participate in a summer league, the fall Nor-Cal competitive league (silver division), and one Halloween tournament.
I would love to be able to take them to one more tournament before the year ends. It is called the MVLA soccer tournament with a cost of $925 per team. MVLA link here
Although I would be happy to pay for the cost out of pocket, it is not something I can do and would love your support. You would be helping a small soccer team with diverse kids from mostly low socioeconomic means... some of whom are sons to farm working families... Paying the astronomical fees is out of range for many of them.
Thank you for any support!
