After discussing the many ways and opportunities to give and to help those around us, my Littles, ages 7 and 9, decided that they would like to raise money in order to purchase items for the women and children assisted by A New Hope Center in Owego, NY. My children (and myself) have been touched by stories of those who have been freed from domestic violence - thanks to shelters like this - and they hope to provide some comfort and coziness in a difficult time.

I want my children to be as involved with this process as possible because this is an opportunity for learning and growth for them as well. That being said, we are collecting monetary donations (rather than posting an Amazon Wish List, etc) so that I can physically take them to the store and let them choose exactly what they want to give. (They will be purchasing sheets, towels, and stuffed animals, as well as some personal hygiene items, but they will be selecting each of the items themselves.) It is an opportunity for them to be able to shop for OTHERS rather than for themselves, and I will be sharing exactly what they chose once the fundraiser has come to an end! :)

We have a lofty goal but are excited to make a difference in the lives of others (and this Momma is excited for her babes to experience the joy of GIVING). <3 Thank you for any help in reaching our goal!
