Help Kida’s Broken Tooth!

Hi everyone! I'm Emily, Kida's loving pet-parent. Kida is a sweet, energetic, dearly loved Australian Shepherd who turned 5 on 6/8.

Kida has broken a molar! We have no idea how or when it happened, but our sweet girl has broken her tooth so badly that the pulp is exposed. This means that sealing the tooth isn't an option, as it would trap bacteria and put her at risk of a deep infection. Since she is so young, and this is a primary tooth used for chewing, the best option is for her to have a root canal. Getting this root canal would preserve her ability to enjoy all of the things she loves most like playing tug and chewing yak cheese. However, this procedure averages between $4,000-$5,000. We just moved into a large rental house with a back yard so Kida could run and play, retiring from her life as an apartment dog. Due to the cost of the move, we simply don't have the funds to pay for an unexpected root canal bill. The only other option is extraction, while it is the more affordable option, it would cause issues with her chewing for the rest of the long life she has ahead of her, and we are trying to avoid it since she is so young.
