Hi friends,
As many farmers experienced, the 2023 season was a challenging one for us. The drought that we experienced essentially wiped out our entire pumpkin/squash/fall ornamental crop, which is a key part of our fall sales that we use to sustain our business through the winter and early spring, when we have no retail sales.
Combined with the skyrocketing costs of fuel/products that everyone is battling, we find ourselves in a tough spot for the 2023 season. We need to place a few more orders for growing medium, seeds, and young plant starts, and we're running short on funds to do so. We don't open our retail operation until typically late April, so we are still over a month away from having any regular income coming in.
We understand that funds are tight for everyone, but are hoping that our community can help us kickstart our 2023 season this year, so that we can open with the full selection and full team that you have seen from us in years past! We are grateful for any and all contributions and shares.
Sincerely,
The Laurenitis Farm team
