Help Kiba Walk Again – Emergency Spinal Surgery Needed
Donation protected
Hi, we’re Eric Black and Meghan Young, and we’re raising funds for our beloved French Bulldog, Kiba, who urgently needs emergency spinal surgery to have a chance at walking again.
As I write this, I’m sitting in the waiting room at the emergency vet, hoping for the best. Kiba has been with us for 4 amazing years, and tomorrow — June 1st — is his birthday. Instead of celebrating, we’re in the hardest moment we’ve faced with him yet.
Just two nights ago, Kiba went from walking normally to suddenly losing function in his back legs. It happened out of nowhere. The diagnosis: Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) — a serious spinal condition where a slipped disc compresses the spinal cord. It’s incredibly painful and can lead to permanent paralysis without surgery.
The cost of surgery and post-op care is estimated at $12,000 CAD, which includes:
• MRI and diagnostic imaging
• Spinal decompression surgery
• Hospital stay and medications
• Pain management and initial recovery support
We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t carry this financial weight on our own. Kiba is not just a dog — he’s family. He’s our shadow, our cuddle buddy, and our source of joy every single day. We just want to give him the chance to live a full, pain-free life again.
If you’re able to donate — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If not, a share is just as powerful. Your support means the world to us and could be the reason Kiba gets back on his feet.
With love and gratitude,
Eric, Meghan, Kiba & Curry (his older sister) ❤️
