My name is Kiara Jackson, and I am a mother of three—two girls and one boy, ages 20, 15, and 13. Life has thrown more than a few challenges my way, but I am determined to keep moving forward for my children. After being displaced from my home during Hurricane Helene, I struggled to find help from FEMA and have faced ongoing difficulties securing proper housing due to an eviction on my record. Despite these setbacks, I have been working hard to rebuild my life and my business as a tax preparer.
Recently, just as I was making progress, I suffered a major setback. On Thanksgiving, I broke my left ankle and had to undergo emergency surgery, which left me with a plate and seven screws to repair the dislocation and break. To make matters even more difficult, I also sprained my right ankle at the same time. Now, I am on eight weeks of bed rest, unable to work or provide for my children as I recover. This has made it nearly impossible to keep up with bills and provide the stability my family needs.
I am reaching out for support to help us secure stable housing and cover essential expenses while I heal. Your generosity will help keep us afloat until I can return to work in March 2026 and continue rebuilding our lives. I am deeply grateful for any help you can offer—God had to break me to rebuild me, and with your support, I know we can get through this together.
