Help Kiana Recover From Apartment Fire

If you know me, you know I’m not one to ask for help, but I’m coming to my network today in dire need of support. Earlier this month, I experienced an apartment fire that initiated in my unit. While I am very fortunate to have made it out unscathed physically and without harming anyone else, the fire left residual physical and water damage to the property and my personal belongings.

While I possess renters insurance, the reparable and irreparable damage exceeds my policy limits, leaving me with a significant balance for physical repairs and to replace personal property damaged by this incident. Furniture, textiles, electronics, clothes, my cameras and other photography equipment succumbed to water damage and destruction by the fire.

It has been a tough time as a freelance photographer and creative without being able to use my professional equipment for various gigs and bookings. This incident has inflicted unexpected financial and emotional strain in various aspects — any and all donations that you can give are greatly appreciated!

In addition to being responsible for the repairs to my apartment unit, I’ve been deemed liable for the damage caused to the other units. If anyone can offer or recommend any legal counsel regarding this matter, it would be greatly appreciated.
