Hello everybody! My name is Kiana Lozano, and I have had the privilege of being chosen as part of Team Canada Dance, representing Canada at the 2025 IDO World Tap Championship in Prague, Czech Republic. I am raising funds to facilitate the journey from now to the championship, where I will have the chance to compete against some of the most elite tap dancers from each country.
I began tap dancing at the age of 7 and competed for 10 years. It didn't come naturally to me, but I worked hard to reach my goals and perfect my craft. I never could have imagined that my tap dancing could take me somewhere like a world stage, but I have always chased my dreams no matter their size! This will be my first year competing as part of Team Canada Dance.
Despite the dancers on Team Canada Dance being some of the most elite in the country and training at the same intensity and frequency as many athletes, dance is not recognized as a sporting event in Canada and thus does not receive funding. Dancers are expected to fully cover the costs involved. Many dancers on the team are also in school, highly involved with their home studios, and a part of other communities. I myself am a full-time university student, and I also work part-time to pay for my education.
For 2025, I am looking to raise $2,500 to help me all the way to the world stage. The money raised from this fundraiser will go directly to me and be used for:
- Competition Entrance Fees
- Travel
- Accommodations
- Costumes
- Choreography
- Rehearsals
I am so blessed to have such a wonderful support system, and have had so many people help and support me every step of the way. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and will help me to achieve my dreams of competing on the world stage, representing my country alongside some of its most elite dancers.
Please share this fundraiser with anyone who may be interested. Thank you for your consideration!
