Help Khoury Fight B-Cell Lymphoma a Second Time

My name is Julie Cassel and I am requesting your assistance for my son, Khoury Rothenberger. Khoury is a hard-working young man of 36, battling B-cell Lymphoma since being first diagnosed on his birthday in December 2018. He is a dedicated father and husband and has been employed by UPS for the past 19 years, but now cannot work. After a brief remission, his cancer returned with a vengeance. Khoury was 11 months old when he lost his father to the same cancer and is now fighting hard to change history and beat this cancer.

A few months ago, a follow-up CT scan revealed his cancer had returned. He is now scheduled to undergo a stem cell transplant in a few days which will require a minimum 3-week hospital stay. The initial chemotherapy, prior to the stem cell transplant, will destroy his entire immune system requiring him to quarantine at home for 6 months while he rebuilds his immunity. In order to further minimize any potential risk of infection, his wife, Amber and their son, will also need to quarantine once Khoury returns home from the hospital. Amber will be at home to act as the primary caregiver. Their son is and will continue to receive his education at home online while all of his friends have returned to in person learning.

Long term disability is not enough to carry them through the quarantine period. The funds raised will help them to stay in their home, afford food and heat for the home during the quarantine, as well as cover certain medical expenses not covered by insurance. The goal of this fundraiser is also to minimize the stress and worry on Khoury so he can focus on healing his body and returning to a normal life with his family.
