"Help My Father Fight Brain Cancer: Md. Khokan Majumder’s Medical Fund
My father, Md. Khokan Majumder, is a 55-year-old high school teacher from Bangladesh. For decades, he has dedicated his life to educating and inspiring students in our small town, helping hundreds of young people pursue higher education and build better futures. He is not only a beloved teacher, he is the sole provider for our family, and the heart of our home.
In 2014, my father was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After years of medication and monitoring, he underwent brain surgery in 2021, followed by radiotherapy. For nearly four years, he remained healthy and active, even continuing to teach. But in early 2025, his health suddenly began to decline. He started losing speech, struggled with movement, and experienced memory lapses. Scans revealed that his brain tumor had returned, and this time, it had likely transformed into a malignant form of brain cancer.
Recent MRI scans show multiple lesions in different parts of his brain, including the frontal lobes and ventricles — indicating possible high-grade transformation, a dangerous stage of the disease. A stereotactic brain biopsy is now scheduled to confirm the tumor type and plan treatment. Doctors suspect that it is now an anaplastic oligodendroglioma (Grade III) — a rare and aggressive brain cancer that requires urgent chemotherapy and radiation.
We are a modest family with limited income. My father has always given everything to support others — his students, his family, his community. Now, we are humbly asking for help to support his treatment, medications, hospital stay, and recovery costs, which are beyond what we can afford alone.
He is the reason I dared to dream of studying at one of the world’s leading universities. Everything I’ve become, I owe to his belief in me. I want him to have a chance to live, to teach again, and to see his students and children thrive.
Please consider donating — even a small contribution can make a big difference. Every taka, dollar, and prayer helps. If you’re unable to give, please share this fundraiser with your friends and family.
Let’s bring him back to the classroom, and back to health."
