Hello everyone, I’m Khari and as you can see I’m trying to raise money to pay for school. I don’t really like asking for help but I’m on my last leg at the moment

About a year ago now I briefly moved in with my mom in Little Rock after I became very concerned with her mental health. I essentially sacrificed my job, my savings, and all my future plans to be with her in whatever ways I could. Long story short, things didn’t end well. My mom and I have both had difficult and traumatic lives and sometimes that can lead to spreading that trauma over generations. On top of misgendering me a lot, there were also times when I genuinely felt unsafe and unloved. I don’t want to get into too many details over the internet but I can say with certainty that our dynamic was extremely unhealthy and really put a huge dent in my mental health and overall well-being.

Flash forward to around November of last year when I came back to Tallahassee. I’m now living with family friends and I’ve been trying to get my life back together for the past year. I was encouraged to try to go back to school after my old job at the Florida Bar declined to rehire me. To be honest I didn’t want to go back to school at all, at least not yet. Mainly because I KNEW I would struggle to pay for it, but going to school was one of the conditions for being invited to live with my friend’s family. When I came back to Tallahassee I had no savings, no money, no transportation. I was lucky to find a job but I spend so much money on just GETTING to work that it’s impossible to save any money. This was less of an issue when I lived near bus routes and could take the bus to work. I am trying to get a certificate in security plus to hopefully get a job in the broad IT field. To be completely honest, I’d be content with just getting a help desk role with health insurance. A security plus certificate would definitely increase my chances at getting a job like that. I haven’t had healthcare in over a year, I don’t remember the last time I went to the doctor, and I have not been able to afford HRT at all. My mental health hasn’t been great lately as this entire year has mainly been me working 5-6 days a week with school 2 days a week. I haven’t had the free time to really do anything else, and the fact that I’m working so much while being unable to really make any progress has made me feel like a failure and is extremely suffocating.

Finishing school and being able to pay for it could potentially change my life for the better. Just being able to get a decent job with health insurance would save me a lot of stress. On top of that, this is genuinely one of the only times I’ve actually done well in school all things considered. I don’t like asking for help or bothering others but any support right now would be greatly appreciated!
