I always try to do the right thing and be charitable to those in need in hopes it will come back when I need a hand, and today, I need a hand.
I'm sure it's no secret, but Khan is my first dog and my everything. As dogs get older, health issues are natural, but we've had a rough few months. He had a mass on his gums last March that was thankfully non-cancerous ($2500). He had a heart murmur in October that turned out to be a degenerative heart disease called DCM, common in Dobermans ($2500 and meds ongoing the rest of his life). Those were manageable, and he's been doing great.
Today, he was vomiting, had an upset stomach, and having trouble standing, so I took him to the ER. He's in critical condition, and still in their care for the next 48 hours as they try to stabilize him and determine next steps, but the bills are already piling up. He has prostatitis, which caused a bad urinary tract infection and led to sepsis. In addition to that, he has fluid buildup in his abdominal cavity- so we're fighting a few battles at the same time. He's responding well to antibiotics, but is still in critical condition and under their care for the next 48 hours, which isn't cheap. My out-of-pocket bills are around $8,000 as it stands, with the possibility of going higher.
It's not the easiest thing for me to ask for help, but I've recently started a new sales job, and it takes time to make sales, so this was about the worst time to have something like this happen. I've worked out a payment plan, but any help would be greatly appreciated as I try to bring my boy home and get him back to his normal goofy self.
If you can't donate, please consider sharing, or just keep us in your thoughts. I truly appreciate it.
