Help Khalissie Fight for Her Life

Khalissie is our baby. She isn’t just a dog — she’s family, and the heartbeat of our home. At only 4½ years old, she should still have so many carefree years ahead of her.

Khalissie was born with a severe congenital heart condition called pulmonic stenosis, which has now progressed into congestive heart failure with fluid buildup (ascites) in her abdomen. Her cardiologist told us something that broke our hearts and amazed us at the same time: it’s quite remarkable she has lived this long with how severe her condition is. She has been fighting since the day she was born.

Despite everything her tiny body has endured, Khalissie continues to show strength and love every single day. She still looks at us with trust, still wants to be close, still lives for affection — and that makes this journey even harder and even more worth fighting.

Over the past weeks, Khalissie has required multiple ER visits, specialist follow-ups, advanced diagnostics, and ongoing medications. The cost of this care has quickly become very steep, and it continues to grow as we pursue every possible option for her.

Her doctors are now evaluating whether she could be a candidate for a life-saving stent procedure, a highly specialized surgery that can only be performed at Cornell University — the only facility in our region capable of offering this treatment.

The financial burden has grown rapidly, but we refuse to stop advocating for her. We want to give Khalissie every possible chance — not just to survive, but to live comfortably, surrounded by the love she has always known.
