Help Khalid raise funds to help injured children in Gaza

Khalid Motawouq is a physiotherapist and father of 5 young children in Jabalia in northern Gaza. Since the start of the war, he has refused to leave his neighbourhood, even after evacuation orders were issued, in order to keep providing care for wounded children and adults in his community.
Though Khalid was not trained as doctor or a medic, he began to treat minor injuries for kids in his home after most hospitals in the north of Gaza were rendered inoperable due to Israeli bombings. He focussed especially on treating young children, who were brought to him with burns, gashes, and sometimes limbs that needed amputation. He performed these procedures with basic supplies and no anaesthetic, because he had no choice. He has saved countless lives.
His own children have been profoundly psychologically affected by the war and what they’ve seen. His two youngest, Hammoud (6) and Halloum (4), have begun to imitate his work, playing paramedic as their father treats the wounded in their home.
Before the war, Khalid was working on expanding his physiotherapy practice. Now his physiotherapy centre is in ruins, and he has had to set up a mobile clinic in a tent in Jabalia. That too, was recently destroyed in airstrikes on Jabalia in early October.
Khalid is in the most isolated area in Gaza, with little access to the internet to communicate with the outside world, and almost no access to aid. His children regularly go hungry, all while he works to help those around him.
Khalid urgently needs your help to raise funds to help his family and to continue to provide care for those in need. Your money will go towards:
- Securing food for his 5 children
- Purchasing medical supplies for his clinic
- Providing internet so his kids can study
Khalid has lost more than 200 relatives in this war, not counting the friends and neighbours. In spite of this, his resolve to continue to help has never waivered. Supporting Khalid with any donation, no matter how small, will make a big difference to him, his family, and the children whose welfare he is so dedicated to.
