Khaleesi, my 12-year-old ride-or-die, has been diagnosed with bilateral laryngeal paralysis — a condition where the muscles that open her airway no longer work. When she gets too hot, stressed, or excited, her airway can close and she struggles to breathe. It’s terrifying to watch, and without surgery, the risk of a fatal episode is high.
She needs a procedure called a tie-back surgery to permanently open one side of her airway. The surgery, anesthesia, and hospital observation are estimated between $4,500 and $6,000, not including her post-op medications.
We’ve already covered the first $1,500 for her diagnostics, imaging, and initial laryngoscopy. Now I’m asking for help to cover the surgery and aftercare so Khaleesi can keep enjoying her favorite things: playing ball, hiking, camping, and licking people directly inside their mouths.
Any amount helps — truly. Sharing this link is also a huge help. Thank you for helping my girl breathe easy again.
