I have been selected to represent Trinidad and Tobago in the upcoming CAC Qualifier Tournament in the Dominican Republic, taking place April 4-8. This is a tremendous honor and a vital step in my athletic journey. Unfortunately, the Ministry of Sports is unable to provide funding, so all athletes are required to self-fund their participation. My expenses include airfare, travel insurance, uniforms, and tournament fees, which add up quickly and make it challenging to attend without support.

Participating in this tournament is necessary for me to regain a world ranking, secure better seeding in future competitions, and qualify for the CAC games. The last time I played for Trinidad and Tobago was at the CAC games in 2024, where I had to face the number one seed in the round of 16 because I was unranked and couldn’t get a decent draw. This experience showed me how important it is to compete regularly and maintain a ranking, so I can represent my country to the best of my abilities.
