Hello,
My name is Salem Abualqumboz living in Belgium, due to restrictions in Palestine I stepped up to help my friend in Palestine start a raise funding campaign to help him out.
Here are Khaled's words...
___
Hello,
My name is Khaled Modad. I am 21 years old, from Gaza, and a third-year dental student at Al-Azhar University.
Ever since I was young, I dreamed of becoming a dentist. I was passionate about the field, driven by the prospect of helping others maintain their health and well-being. Unfortunately, the outbreak of war in my region has shattered this dream. The war not only brought destruction to my personal life but also to my educational pursuits. The university where I have spent countless hours studying has been severely damaged, making it nearly impossible to continue my education.
The impact of the war extends beyond the university. My family's home was bombed, erasing nearly all traces of our past life and my academic records. Tragically, I also lost close family members and several of my best friends in this genocide happening in Gaza.
Financially, the situation is dire. The costs associated with dental studies are significant, and prior to the war, my parents had managed to set aside funds to support my education. However, with the ongoing conflict, those funds have been depleted. My parents, like many others, have no source of income now. The economic aftermath of the war has led to skyrocketing prices and severe scarcity of basic necessities.
Throughout the war, we were displaced multiple times. With each move, we faced the arduous task of constructing temporary shelters, only to abandon them in order to escape the next round of bombings. Each relocation meant starting over with nothing, continually searching for food, water, and a safe place to sleep. The constant fear and uncertainty of whether we will survive the next day haunts us.
Due to the high cost of coordinating travel to Egypt, we were not able to travel and escape from Gaza because the cost per person is $5,000 to go to Egypt, and this is a large amount for my family, which has 8 members.
Despite these hardships, we strive to find hope and continue praying for safety and stability. My goal is not only to rebuild my life but also to revive my dream of becoming a dentist. To do so, I desperately need assistance to fund my education and help my family rebuild our home.
Your support would mean the world to me and provide a beacon of hope in these trying times. It would enable me to continue my studies in dentistry, a dream that once seemed within reach but now appears nearly impossible without help.
Total cost of studying Medicine in Egypt:
University fees
$3,500 per year
3500x5=17,500$ for 5 years
Fifth: Expenses for living, books, transportation, and personal expenses of $300 per month.
300x12=3,600$ per year
3,600x5=18,000 per five years
Total fees are:
17,500$ University fees
18,000$ House rent and personal expenses
$5,000 to go to Egypt
Thank you for considering my plea. Any assistance you can offer would be deeply appreciated not just by me, but by my entire family, as we work together to rebuild our lives.
Warm regards,
Khaled Modad
