Help Khaled (Alias to protect his privacy) to leave Gaza and Start His Education

In April 2024, I discovered a humanitarian scholarship at the University of Manchester. Despite a tight deadline and many obstacles, I applied and secured a conditional offer for a postgraduate degree. Eventually, I was awarded the scholarship, which covers my tuition fees. However, my journey is far from over.

On May 7, 2024, the Israeli military occupied the Rafah border, closing my only viable route to safety. Since then, I have been unable to leave Gaza, putting my scholarship and future at risk. While there is now a ceasefire, the cost of crossing Rafah has skyrocketed, and my ability to reach the UK remains uncertain.

Why I Need Your Help

Evacuating Gaza is incredibly expensive. Even if the border reopens, crossing costs are currently estimated at $10,000 or more. In addition, I will need funds for:

Visa fees and travel documents – Securing a UK visa comes with its own costs.

Temporary accommodation in Egypt – Before I can travel to the UK, I will need a safe place to stay while waiting for my visa.

Living costs whilst in Egypt.
