My name is Fons Kint, and I live in the Netherlands. I’m setting up this fundraiser for the son of my dear Palestinian friend Raed, who lives with his family in Gaza. I got to know him through a mutual friend, we’ve stayed in close contact through the tragedy of the war, and now his 6-year-old son, Khaled, urgently needs our help.

About Khaled

Khaled is a joyful, bright presence and a brave 6-year-old. He is an only child, born through IVF after years of his parents’ waiting and hoping. Khaled is their long awaited miracle, and has been a beacon of light for them. Khaled is the eyes of his father Raed, (who is blind) the heartbeat of his mother Enaam, and a daily reminder of why they never gave up hope.

But Khaled has faced immense challenges since birth.

• He suffers from neurological complications, epilepsy, and severe vision loss due to Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP)

• He lives with trauma, sensory impairments, and developmental delays caused by illness, war, and ongoing displacement

• The ongoing war in Gaza has destroyed their home, deprived him of nutrition, medication, and basic safety

Khaled’s condition is urgent. He needs advanced neurological, ophthalmological, and rehabilitative care abroad. He suffers from his vision impairment, he cannot see things well and cannot easily distinguish people's features. Special glasses help him a little, but the disease Khaled has is an advanced retinal disease, and the longer it takes, the greater the damage. Together We Can Help Khaled

Khaled’s family has lost almost everything in the war. Not only did they lose their house, they lost, neighbors, friends, relatives and the ability to access even basic care. They are currently displaced near Deir al-Balah and surviving under harsh conditions.

We are raising funds to help Khaled receive treatment. and reach medical specialists that can provide the care he desperately needs. Khaled is life itself for his family, the hope of his parents.

Our First Goal: €10,000

Estimated costs are much higher than our first goal but we have decided to start with raising €10.000 as phase 1 for this fundraiser

Costs that are needed to be covered are for:

1. Neurological Treatment & Surgery

(Including treatment for epileptic seizures and advanced diagnostics)

2. Ophthalmological Treatment

(To stop the progression of Khaled’s vision loss and preserve/improve sight)

3. Full rehabilitation and long-term recovery support.

How the Money Will Be Used

I (Fons) will personally withdraw the funds to my account and transfer them directly to Raed and his family. We are in close and consistent contact. Despite the tragic situation that Raed and his family are in, all the funds will be used exclusively for Khaled’s medical care.

Bank transfer receipts will be saved and shared transparently with donors upon request.

Khaled’s father Raed has agreed to make a personal thank-you video to donors as well, once we’ve reached our first goal.

Khaled loves music, sensory games, and playing with his parents. He adores sweets but hasn’t tasted either in a long time due to famine in Gaza. He is curious, smart, and resilient, despite living in fear, hunger, and medical pain every day.

Khaled is a vibrant young spirit that deserves a life filled with care, safety, and hope.
