Help Khaled Complete His Journey to Becoming an Ophthalmologist*

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Khaled Mousa Hassan Barhoum, a fifth-year medical student at Zagazig University in Egypt, hails from northern Gaza. He is on a challenging journey to become an ophthalmologist—a dream that now hangs by a thread.

Before the devastating war in Gaza, Khaled relied on his parents for support. They owned a modest farm in Gaza City, which was not just a source of income but also a symbol of their hard work and dedication. However, the war destroyed their lives, their home, and their land, leaving the family with nothing but their determination to survive and rebuild.

Despite these hardships, Khaled's resolve remains unshaken. He secured a partial scholarship covering about 50% of his tuition fees. To cover his expenses, he juggles work alongside his studies, striving to pay for his living costs. His parents, despite their limited means, contribute whatever little they can.

Khaled's goal is not merely a personal achievement; it's a mission. He aspires to become an ophthalmologist to address the urgent medical needs in Gaza, where the healthcare system is under severe strain and lacks resources. His dream is to return and provide much-needed medical expertise in Gaza.

Now, Khaled faces a critical obstacle. He needs to secure the remaining $21,000 in tuition fees to continue his medical education for the next three years (including one academic year and two years of training).

This is where you come in. Your support can bridge the gap for Khaled, turning his dreams into reality. By contributing to Khaled's education, you're not just helping one individual; you're investing in the future of healthcare in a place that desperately needs it. Your donation will directly fund Khaled's tuition fees, bringing him one step closer to serving his community as an ophthalmologist.

With this much love, our house brought us together. It was a safe and secure refuge for all of us. It was like a world that brings together our love, our ambitions, and our beautiful memories. But unfortunately, with all heartbreak and sadness, for this beautiful and humble house and all the beautiful memories with my family. This war came, and it took away our beautiful house, it was bombed without a reason or a warning. Our lives were completely destroyed, and we were displaced, searching for the security that we will never find in Nylon tent. This house was a support for us. And because of all the suffering that my father has to go through throughout his life and his exhaustion in his work to build this house.I am here asking you, and I hope that you will help me and my family to rebuild our home and find security and peace together.

This war has stolen so many valuable things from us , some of which can never recover or come back , it has stolen many of my relatives including my uncle, his five children, and my aunt, who was like a mother to me and to my siblings . They have left a great void in our hearts. We ask God for mercy and acceptance for them and all our martyrs.

Last year, I went back to Gaza to visit my family during my summer break. During my visit I received training in the Indonesian hospital located in north of Gaza. It was an enjoyable experience, and it provided me with valuable knowledge and skills to be a distinguished doctor, develop myself, I worked with many nurses and treated with the supervision of doctors many patients. Unfortunately, the hospital was completely destroyed and is no longer operational. And here are Some pictures of me at work..
