Hello,

My name is Shima, I am 32 years old, a wife to Khaled (38), and a mother of two beautiful children, Raneem (4) and Yousef (3). Living with us is my husband’s younger brother, Mahmoud (22).

Our Story:

When the war began, our world was destroyed. We fled our home under constant bombing, terrified that each moment might be our last. At first, we stayed in a UNRWA school shelter, where there was no proper food, no clean water, and hundreds of families struggling to survive in overcrowded rooms.

My children cried from hunger, from sickness, and from fear of the endless airstrikes. Winter was unbearable—we had no blankets, no heat, and my little ones fell ill again and again. Later, when the shelter itself was bombed, we had to escape once more. We ended up in a tent made from torn plastic and old cloth, with no protection from the freezing cold or the burning heat.

When we finally returned to our home, it was gone reduced to rubble. We have nothing left. No food, no clean water, no income, no safety. Every day is the same heartbreaking question: how do I feed my children, how do I keep them alive another day?
