Help Khairi Ross Fight for His Life!

Khairi Ross, a vibrant 24-year-old with a heart full of dreams, is in the fight of his life, and we’re asking for your help! We need our community to rally around him with both donations and prayer during this critical time.

Khairi is a lifelong Homewood resident who attended Willow, Churchill, Millenium, James Hart, and Homewood-Flossmoor High School. At 6’8”, he was not only an exceptional student but also a standout on the football and basketball teams. Khairi graduated from HFHS in 2019, and his star continued to rise as he pursued his dreams alongside his twin sister, Layla.

After attending Fisk University in Tennessee, Khairi and Layla moved to Los Angeles in 2021 to chase their entrepreneurial aspirations. Khairi started his own clothing line, worked two jobs, and taught himself to sew, even designing wardrobe pieces for independent films.

However, in February 2024, Khairi noticed some changes in his health and sought medical attention. He was misdiagnosed with hemorrhoids and faced months of persistent pain and dismissive care from medical professionals. Despite this, Khairi continued pushing forward, even moving into a new apartment in West Hollywood in October.

By November, his pain became unbearable. After rapid weight loss (dropping from 210 to 140 pounds) and repeated misdiagnoses, his parents flew him home to Illinois in early December. On January 8, 2025, Khairi received the devastating diagnosis: Stage 4 colon cancer.

Khairi now faces an uphill battle. He will undergo 6 months of intensive chemotherapy to shrink the cancer before surgery. His focus needs to be on healing and survival, but the financial burden is overwhelming. His rent in LA, rising medical bills, and other outstanding expenses are piling up, adding stress to an already heartbreaking situation.

Khairi’s family is strong, loving, and supportive, but they cannot do this alone. This is where YOU come in.

We are praying for miraculous healing and asking for any financial support you can offer to help alleviate the mounting bills. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Khairi’s medical expenses, rent, and the care he needs to fight this disease.
