Khai is originally from Vietnam. He came to the United States as a young teenager, chasing the same dream many of us share — a better life and a fresh start. Unfortunately, growing up on the streets of Los Angeles, he was introduced to drugs and made some bad choices along the way. Like many of us, he’s made mistakes, but what stands out about Khai is his determination to change his life for the better.
When I met Khai, he was clean, humble, and doing his best to stay that way despite being homeless. Even without a roof over his head, he tries to stay neat and presentable, and his spirit is gentle and kind. His green card was stolen, which has made it impossible for him to work or secure housing. I’ve already submitted all the necessary documents to get his replacement so he can finally start working again and move forward.
Khai is a believer in Jesus Christ. I gave him a Bible, and he reads it faithfully every morning and night. We also pray together — sometimes right there on the sidewalk — asking God for guidance, protection, and a new beginning. His faith gives him strength, and it’s been a blessing to witness how deeply he trusts in God despite his circumstances.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve helped Khai with clean clothes, food, and even a small phone so we can stay in touch. This GoFundMe is to help him with basic needs — food, clean clothes, hygiene items, and occasionally a night in a hotel to rest and shower. I also have a job lined up for him at a local restaurant washing dishes, but he can’t begin until his green card arrives.
Khai doesn’t ask for much — just a chance to get back on his feet and live with dignity. Every dollar donated will go directly toward helping him rebuild his life, one step at a time.
If you can’t give, please pray for Khai’s strength, safety, and for his documents to arrive soon so he can begin working again. Your kindness and prayers truly make a difference.
Thank you for reading his story and helping me bring hope to someone who truly deserves it.
