Help Khitam save her family from starvation

My name is Reem Elsharif I’m launching this fundraiser on the behalf of my sister-in-law, Khitam. Khitam and her family of 6 (her husband, two beautiful daughter and two boys) are the sweetest souls, I’ve always kept in contact with them even though they’re across the world they’d always brighten up my days. When the war started i lost contact with them. But every time i got the chance to talk to them I’d feel the life and joy slowly being stripped away from them, they had to endure the terrors of this war for over a year.During the war khitam lost her lovely sister Aisha. Aisha and Khitam were very close, never letting a day pass without talking. Khitam is heartbroken from the death of her sister.

She takes part in caring for Aisha’s children as her own children, never abandoning them and trying to supply them with food and provisions whenever she can.

Gaza is Khitam and her family’s home and while it is very hard to think about leaving, Khitam’s husband is of Greek origin which gives her and her children a chance of relocation, if they manage to raise enough funds and if the border ever opens... And that alone is not an easy process as they'd have to go through several complicated bureaucratic processes as well as crossing the border for 6 people would roughly cost $15,000-17,000. Khitam’s number one priority is her children’s future and she wants to able to give them an education and safety, as any mother would.

In the past year Khitam and her family have been displaced from Northern Gaza countless times just like the millions of others and forced to live in tents and inhumane conditions, suffering from malnutrition and the toll of constant upheaval.

During the constant bombardment Khitam’s youngest daughter was injured in the leg by bullets and is in desperate need of medical attention.

Her kids have been significantly traumatized in addition to suffering from severe stress and anxiety as a result of the dreadful things that they have seen. They are in desperate need of drugs and other forms of psychological treatment, but these have proven hard to come by in Gaza.
Her husband is also in a very poor mental state and constantly suffering from anxiety attacks. The provider and protecter who his family once relied on now needs someone to rely on.

Recently, as they have returned to the North to their home that can’t be even considered a home anymore, completely destroyed to ruins, as expected. And staying in the North isn't even a safe option because of evacuation orders. Even transportation to the South costs a fortune ($400) as you can't imagine walking there with 4 children and carrying whatever you have left to survive. Now more than ever they are in desperate need of your support and aid.

Don’t sit and read this while feeling helpless because you can make a change! If 800 people donate just $50 each, we can reach our goal of $40,000. If $50 isn't feasible for you right now, consider sharing this campaign with your friends and asking them to contribute $5 or $10. It’s as simple as skipping a couple of snacks or your everyday coffee for one day to help those in need. Just a few minutes of your time to spread the word could help us gather the support we need to make a real difference.

The money raised will be collected by a family relative (Ahmad Alsharif) who is located in the USA and has the ability to transfer them to Gaza in form of multiple transactions first to Egypt and then into Gaza as there is no other way this can be done because of the situation going on. And if we were to raise any extra donations they’d be used to aid Khitam and her family for the most basic living necessities meanwhile they’re in Gaza as they work their way through evacuation since the procedure of merely crossing the border takes ages. And as it’s no stranger to you that the most basic goods’ prices are ridiculous…
⁃ Pajamas and basic clothing pieces to keep you warm during this weather ranges from $40 - $90.
⁃ ONE simple meal per person ranges from $40 - $50.
20 kilos of just plain flour has reached $175
⁃ And a fruit as simple as bananas cost $53 per kilo.
And since Khitam’s family house has been smothered to ruins they’re forced to rent a small apartment which cost $600-700 per month that is if even there is any apartments available to rent of not they'd have to stay in a tent.
So you can see why they also need extra support for essential needs until they’re able to evacuate.

Any donation big or small will make a huge difference. If you have any humanity in you, you’d share this campaign or contribute to it with any simple donation. Merely giving up at least $5 or $10 a day won’t affect your life but it would theirs.
Just like you and I, Khitam and her family deserve to live a humane life.
