Hello Friends,
Meet Keziah Rahwanji who was born on 7th February 2021. She is her mother Felicia's first child and they live in a small town in Ghana- West Africa called Somanya. Felicia was thrilled to welcome her first child and daughter but soon realized that her daughter was not breathing well and her color was blueish. She was informed by the doctors that she had a condition called AVSD (Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a heart defect that is present at birth (congenital).
As a baby develops in the womb, a wall (septum) forms that divides the upper chamber into a left and right atrium. When this wall does not form correctly, it can result in a defect that remains after birth.
A large, long-standing atrial septal defect can damage your heart and lungs. Surgery or device closure might be necessary to repair atrial septal defects to prevent complications.
Surgery has been recommended in India because it currently cannot be performed in Ghana. India's cost is much lower than the cost to have surgery in the US or UK.
Felicia and her family unfortunately do not have the funds to cover the trip and medical bills and no medical insurance coverage to help Kezia and as she grows the damage is expanding.
Your help and support is greatly appreciated to help raise the funds to help save Kezia's life.
