UPDATE:
We wanted to share an important update and thank everyone who has supported, prayed, and encouraged us during this difficult season.
Unfortunately, despite exhausting every available option — including repeated communication with Financial Aid, federal and private loan attempts, and family contributions — we were unable to secure the remaining funds in time for Keyon to remain enrolled at Georgia State University this semester. This was not a decision made lightly, and it was incredibly hard after how much effort went into trying to make it work.
Since withdrawing, we have also been faced with additional housing and meal plan charges from GSU totaling over $5,000. We are currently in the process of formally appealing these charges due to financial hardship, and we are hopeful that some or all of these fees may be reduced or waived. Until that process is complete, we do not yet know what the final balance with GSU will be.
Looking ahead, our plan is for Keyon to continue his education and return to school in the Fall semester. Due to the challenges and uncertainty experienced this term, we are prayerfully planning for him to transfer to a Tennessee school, with the University of Tennessee as the goal.
Any funds raised through this GoFundMe will be used responsibly and with integrity — first to resolve any remaining balance with Georgia State University after the appeal process, and then toward Keyon’s continued education and transfer expenses for the upcoming academic year.
This situation has been incredibly heavy, but we trust that God is still ordering our steps, even when the path looks different than expected. We are deeply grateful for every prayer, message, share, and contribution. Your kindness has meant more to us than we can put into words.
Thank you for standing with us during this season. We will continue to provide updates as we learn more.

INITIAL POST:
I’m coming on here with a humble heart and a lot of faith, asking for prayer and support for my son, Keyon. Keyon is currently a student at Georgia State University, pursuing his BS in psychology. We were initially led to believe he had a full ride, but we recently found out that he only received in-state tuition along with a few local scholarships. Unfortunately, we didn’t get clarity on this until just a few days ago, which left us no time to prepare. I’ve already contributed toward his balance, but we still need help to cover the remaining semester fees. The deadline is today, and if it isn’t paid, he won’t be able to continue this semester.
Keyon graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and has continued to work incredibly hard in college, maintaining all A’s and one B. He’s done his part. He reached out to the financial aid office to explore every option, but due to the maximum aid already being disbursed last semester, they weren’t able to offer additional assistance. I truly believe God can make a way, even at the last minute.
If anyone feels led to help in any amount, we would be deeply grateful. If you’re unable to give, prayers are just as appreciated. Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting us however you can.
Update: Unfortunately, we were unable to secure the remaining funds in time for Keyon to remain enrolled at GSU this semester. Since then, we’ve been navigating additional charges related to his meal plan and housing, totaling over $5,000. We are actively reaching out to the university to see if these fees can be reviewed or waived.
Due to the challenges and uncertainty throughout this process, we believe the best next step is for Keyon to transfer to a school in Tennessee, with UT being the goal. If we are unable to raise the full amount originally needed for GSU, any funds raised will be used toward his transfer and continued education.
While this situation caught us by surprise, it did not catch God by surprise. We trust His will and His guidance, even when the path looks different than we expected.
This season has been heavy, but we are committed to stewarding every gift with integrity and doing what’s best for Keyon’s future. Thank you for your prayers, support, and kindness during this time.
