Help Kevin Jones win his fight against cancer!
Kevin Jones has been a valued employee at BAYADA Home Health Care for 6 years. This is where he also met the love of his life, his wife Darlene Swift Jones, who is also an employee at BAYADA Home Health Care in another support office. As the story goes, they met during one of our office fire drills. It was quite the BAYADA love story!
Kevin and Darlene had a destination wedding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica November 30th, 2018 surrounded by their family and friends. For those who couldn’t be there to share their special day in person, their wedding was livestreamed for all to see and witness. Darlene has described it as being one of the most magical days of her life.
After their beautiful wedding, Kevin and Darlene both returned to work in their very important roles. Kevin and Darlene are hardworking and dedicated employees, their careers always came first, and they never failed to put everyone else’s needs first. They are two of the most generous people that I have ever had the pleasure to both know and work with.
Both Kevin and Darlene have participated in BAYADA local charity fundraisers which have included walking in the Alzheimer’s walks or helping to build houses for Habitat for Humanity. Both Kevin and Darlene would volunteer wherever and whenever they could. Giving back was natural for them.
Together they celebrated the birth of their beautiful daughter Avianna Patrice Jones born on July 26th, 2020. It seemed that together, they had created the perfect life together…
We weren’t sure if there was anything that would slow this dedicated pair down, but there was one thing. Tragedy struck in January 2021, Kevin was diagnosed with T-Cell lymphoblastic Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and you can only imagine what this diagnosis has done to this young family. Kevin is currently hospitalized at RWJ hospital in New Brunswick where he is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment. Kevin has a long road ahead of him as his treatment will be on-going for an undetermined amount of time. Through it all, Kevin has and will continue to be upbeat and positive and he is ready to kick cancer in the pants and fight the biggest battle of his life.
Since Kevin’s treatment is going to be ongoing for an undetermined amount of time and with the medical bills that will undoubtedly be mounting, Kevin will be on disability and unable to work, he and his family need our help more than ever!
We know this has been a very difficult year for everyone, just know that these will be very difficult years ahead for the Jones family.
Please donate any amount you can afford to, and remember, there is no amount too small, all proceeds raised will help with their bills, Kevin’s medical bills and whatever Avianna may need.
For anyone who knows Kevin, knows how positive, humble and giving he is and although he is on this difficult journey, we won’t let his positivity waiver, all of his friends and family have his back in this fight and he will come out the winner!!
I am honored to call them both my friends and even more honored that I have been chosen to put this fundraiser together for them.
