When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, it left behind unimaginable destruction — and this time, it hit home for me in the most personal way.

My family have lost almost everything. Their homes were badly damaged, roofs torn away, property destroyed, and basic essentials they depend on are gone.

For days, I hadn’t heard from them because telecommunications and Electricity were completely down. The waiting and not knowing was terrifying When I finally made contact, I learned the truth: they are safe, but they’re in serious need of help.

Right now, they need the basics — clean water, food, clothing, and shelter materials — just to get through each day and begin rebuilding their lives.
