Kevin, my partner, underwent open heart surgery on March 2nd, 2026. What was expected to be a routine recovery has turned into an abnormally long and difficult journey. He has now spent 44 days in the ICU, far longer than anyone anticipated, and we haven’t even started rehab yet. Once rehab begins, it will be another 6-8 weeks of intensive work to help him regain his strength and independence.

Throughout this time, myself, his brother, and his father have been doing everything we can to support him. We’ve been covering his health insurance, home expenses, while also taking time off work to be at the hospital. The costs have added up quickly, and it’s been especially hard on his father, who is 85 and living on a fixed income. We’re also doing our best to keep Kevin’s beloved dog and cat cared for, making sure they have what they need while he recovers.

Funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward keeping his pets safe, paying the home electric bill, and most importantly, covering his health insurance premium and other expenses that have accrued during his recovery. Any support means the world to us during this unexpected, challenging journey. We just want to help Kevin get back to being Kevin, surrounded by the people and pets who love him.
