Hello everyone, I want to start by thanking all of anyone that took time out of there day to read through a little bit of my story. My name is Kevin McGann, what I want to do here is fill you in a little about myself and what brought me here. Unfortunately, like most youth of my generation, I had a very tough childhood with a lot of traumatic events that happened to me and my sibling's at a early age sparking the constant need for something we could never find, or a void if you will, right off the bat. This abuse took a tole after years on end causing an impact on the way I treated myself throughout my teenage years. Drugs and alcohol became a part of me, we were inseparable. I was addicted to anything I could get my hands on from my freshman year of highschool and thought that was how I was going to spend the rest of my days. During those years of abusing myself it made my decision making destructive and uncaring, I lost my little brother Abraham to fentanyl, he was only 22. I could write a whole novel about the tragedy of my life but I'm not here for that, I just want to give a little insight of why I'm on this end of the table. I appreciate you so much if you even read this far.
On October 14th, 2025, I had my last drink—the same day I was arrested for my second OUI. Since then, I have been sober for five months, spent 60 days in county jail, and am now living in a halfway house, working every day to rebuild my life. My beautiful fiancée and I just welcomed our first child, Seleste, and I am determined to be present for her and my family. I have found faith and a renewed sense of hope, and my mental health is better than it has ever been.
My days are filled with recovery meetings, court appointments, and screenings, all of which require me to travel across town, often on foot. This makes it nearly impossible to find employment and support my family. I am asking for help to purchase an E-Bike, which would save me hours each day and give me the mobility I need to continue my recovery and find work. This is my first time reaching out for help like this, and it took a lot of pride to sit down and share my story. Any support would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for believing in my journey and for helping me move forward. I truly believe that with your help, good things will come back to you tenfold.
