Help Kevin McConnell Fight Leukemia and Lymphoma

We are writing on behalf of our dad, Kevin McConnell.

Back in October of 2023, Kevin was diagnosed with stage 3 chronic kidney disease. By April of 2024, he had progressed rapidly to Stage 4 chronic kidney disease with the talk of dialysis and kidney transplant.

On May 1, 2024, he went for a stress test. During his test, he had a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital. They placed 2 stents in his widow maker 2 days later after finding it was 99% and 70% blocked in 2 places. While having the work up testing for his heart catheterization, a CT scan of his chest revealed multiple enlarged lymph nodes from his neck down to his groin with an enlarged spleen.

After months of extensive testing, blood work, a lymph node biopsy, and a port placed for chemo, he was diagnosed with Stage IV aggressive chronic lymphocytic leukemia and small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL). He is currently on a chemotherapy pill that he will have to be on for the rest of his life. His spirits are high but he is struggling with the side effects of the chemo.
