Hi, My name is James, and I am Kevin's dad. I would like to take a moment and bring everyone up to speed on the condition of our son, Kevin and his recent diagnosis with nasopharyngeal cancer or NPC.

Back in April 2023, Kevin started having mild, recurring headaches and left ear issues. Doctors looked into an ear infection, or migraines but nothing much more than that. Kevin's symptoms progressively got worse and worse over the next few months. In late August, shortly after Kevin’s 20th Birthday, he went in for his MRI. The following Monday, we received the results from the MRI, which what appeared to show a mass consistent with nasopharyngeal (nay-zoh-fuh-RIN-jee-ul) cancer. Kevin was checked into Kadlec Hospital, and remained there over the next few days while they performed additional imaging, and the biopsy of the tumor.

Since then, we have been visiting with many local doctors and nurse advocates on treatment options, and to help us navigate our next steps. Next week, we will meet with doctors in Seattle So far, it looks like we have a long road ahead. Currently, Kevin is scheduled for 12 weeks of chemotherapy, followed after a week or so with 6 weeks of both Radiation and Chemotherapy. We do not know what lies beyond those schedules.

Over the next many months, we anticipate numerous visits to the Seattle treatment centers. This fundraiser will be used exclusively towards helping Kevin Kick Cancer (e.g., medical bills, transportation, housing, etc.). With your generosity, this will be one less item to worry about when all of our focus is on Kevin.

Kevin, and all of us, wanted to tell everyone that we greatly appreciate the outpour of support and love from our extended family and friends. As we collectively move forward and help "Kevin Kick Cancer”, I will provide updates to all of you. Again, thanks for the heartfelt support from all of you towards Kevin, and all of us.
