Help Kevin Heal: Overcome Medical Crisis

My name is Melissa, and I’m reaching out for support for my husband, who recently experienced a serious medical emergency.

What started as a trip to the ER to be told it was hemorrhoids and sent home turned into something more serious because they gave him the wrong diagnosis. Kevin ended up with an abscess that led to an infection in his blood and his kidneys shutting down. They did surgery to drain the abscess and started him on dialysis. A few days later, he started to get sicker, and they did more tests to find out his liver enzymes are too high and his white blood cells are still too high as well. He has been undergoing different tests and procedures, on antibiotics, and has not eaten in 3 weeks or peed. Just yesterday, his heart rate has been going up, so they moved him to a different floor to monitor his heart. They also put a stent in his gallbladder so it will drain to the intestines, and we are hoping this will help his liver some. He is very sick.

My husband is now facing a long and uncertain road to recovery. The medical costs are overwhelming, especially since his health insurance was stopped a few months ago, and we had been trying to get him insurance, but everything was too high. Nobody can afford over $1000 a month for insurance, but now I am trying to get him Medicaid since he is temporarily not working. We will also need financial support to help him when he goes home because he will be on dialysis and won't be able to return to work right away.

We’re doing everything we can to help him, but we urgently need financial support to ensure he gets the treatment he needs and can return home to continue his recovery.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. It will help cover the costs of his medical bills, dialysis, medicine, and bills at home.
