Hello, My name is Tracy McGovern. Some of you may know on December 26th, 2023 my husband Kevin had a significant cardiac event while we were away for the holiday in New York.

I did chest compressions waiting for EMS. The police were first to arrive and shocked him with their AED. He was sedated and on a ventilator for a day. Then they were able to discover the issue and that stents were not an option. This required that Kevin be transferred to another hospital. The end result being an open heart triple bypass. We were in two different hospitals in New York for 2 weeks and were completely unprepared for not only the unexpected event and procedure, but for the financial implications that stemmed from the situation.

It was a total shock. Kevin has never had high blood pressure or high cholesterol. He never smoked, works a physical job and is always doing something physical.

Kevin is the main income earner in our household and he will be out of work for at least 3 months. We have insurance but since we were well out of network the bills are quite sizable. It is overwhelming especially while he is trying to focus on healing.

I am taking a deep breath and putting this out there. I know most everyone is struggling a bit so it took me a hot minute to make this decision. I’ve had a lot of people ask me what they can do. I am not sure if this was what you were thinking, but I am biting the bullet and asking.

As of this moment I don’t have even a guess at the total for the Medical Bills. I am looking to raise $18,000 to help us cover some of the medical bills.
