Kevin, my husband, has always been the kind of person who steps up for others. Whether it’s helping a neighbor in need or supporting friends through tough times, his heart has always been open and generous. Three weeks ago, our lives changed when Kevin fell down over 20 steps in our home. He suffered a fractured skull and three brain bleeds, and he’s been hospitalized ever since. Right now, he can barely take a few assisted steps, and it’s heartbreaking to see someone so full of life and love in this condition.

The best chance for Kevin’s recovery is a place called neuro restorative, which specializes in helping people with traumatic brain injuries regain their mobility and cognitive functions. Unfortunately, they do not accept Kevin’s Medicare, and the cost for this care must be paid out of pocket. The alternative is skilled nursing, but it doesn’t offer the specialized care Kevin needs to truly recover. I’ve never done a GoFundMe before, but I am willing to do anything to help my husband get the best care possible.
