Help Kevin Find Shelter and Hope
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I’m reaching out to the kindness in your heart to help someone who truly needs — and deserves — a second chance.
A few months ago, something unexpected happened. While walking our fur baby with my husband, I spotted a $20 bill lying on the ground. I could’ve kept it — but instead, I saw a man sitting alone on a bench and felt compelled to give it to him. That man was Kevin.
That small moment sparked something much greater. I learned Kevin is 60 years old and has been homeless for five years. He lost everything — his mother passed away five years ago, his father and brother had already died before that, and his partner and son left him. What remained was sadness, depression, and a life on the streets.
Since then, I’ve been helping Kevin however I can — bringing him the water bottles I collect, sharing food, and offering companionship. He’s never asked for more than what I offered, and his gratitude is always overwhelming. I took time to learn about him, to check his story, and to make sure that helping him was safe — and right. And I’ve learned this: Kevin is a good man who lost his way through grief and heartbreak.
But now, Kevin’s health is declining. His back has been broken three times, and walking for long distances is nearly impossible. The scorching Sacramento summer is coming, and with temperatures reaching 110°F, being on the streets could be devastating for him.
Here’s where I need your help.
I found a used RV for $15,000 — a safe, stable, and dignified place for Kevin to rest, heal, and be sheltered from the elements. I’ve put down a deposit to hold it until Saturday, but I can’t afford to cover the full cost on my own. I’m not asking for the full $15,000 from anyone — I’m simply asking for anything you can give to help make this dream a reality for someone who has nowhere else to turn.
Even $5 can bring us closer to getting Kevin off the streets and into a space that offers security and hope.
This isn’t just about a vehicle. It’s about giving a man a bed to sleep in, a door he can close at night, and the peace of knowing someone still cares.
Please help me help Kevin.
Every share, every dollar, every prayer makes a difference.
With love and gratitude,
Jennifer
