In October 2025, Kevin began feeling unwell. After seeing his doctor, he was initially diagnosed with a chest cold. As his condition worsened, doctors then believed it was pneumonia. When Kevin finally went to the ER, a scan revealed the real cause—lung cancer.

Since then, Kevin has undergone a lymph node biopsy, PET scans, and an MRI. The final diagnosis is Stage 4 lung cancer, which has spread to his bones.

Kevin is in fight mode. He is determined to do everything he can to battle this disease, and he will need all the prayers, love, and support we can give him.

Kevin is currently at MD Anderson in Houston, where he and his wife, Phyllis, are waiting to meet with doctors and determine the next steps in his treatment. During this time, they are facing mounting expenses for travel, hotels, and meals. We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease some of the financial burden so they can focus their energy where it matters most—on Kevin’s fight.

Kevin is surrounded by love. He has the unwavering support of his wife, Phyllis; his children, Jennifer, Amy, and Ashlyn; his many grandchildren; and even a great-grandchild. He also has countless friends whose lives he has touched and whose hearts he has graced.
