Help Kevin Butterfield Please
Donation protected
Hi,
As some of you may already know, on September 3rd of this year, Kevin Butterfield was walking down Island Hwy at night outside of Parksville when he was struck by a high speed vehicle. Kevin was lucky enough to survive this horrific crash, but due to injuries, Kevin has had most of his lower left leg amputated:
Again, we are lucky to have him, but he still has a lot of recovery time.
For those that are not aware, Kevin has recently moved to the lower mainland and has an apartment in New Westminster. Kevin will not be able to work while he is recovering from the injury and is in jeopardy of losing his apartment with no money coming in. I am sure I do NOT have to explain to anyone about how difficult it is to deal with ICBC to try to obtain funds while you are off work.
Kevin has requested to speak with the Social Worker on his unit and has an appointment to see her tomorrow. He is going to request she help him pay for Persons With Disabilities (PWD), but this can take time.
Kevin has requested to be transferred to a hospital in the GVRD, but we are not sure which hospital will accept him yet. We will update the page once we know, so can go visit him if you are able.
We are looking to raise about $10,000 to help pay for Kevin's rent and other bills while he in hospital and recovering. Thank you all for your time reading this. Any donation, and every kind word are greatly appreciated. Wishing all the Best for Kevin !
