Help Kevin Buck Rebuild His Life

Donation protected
My name is [redacted], and I want to tell you about my good friend, Kevin Buck. A graduate of Flagstaff High School, Kevin was our marching band drum major. He won the state championship in humorous prose. Throughout his life, Kevin has been a giver. He has devoted his life to seeking out the downtrodden and lifting them up through his kind words and generous donations. Kevin is a force of nature, a smile that always warms a room, and a silver tongue that invites everyone to come be happy, join the party, and belong.
Kevin has always been a hard worker, and all I heard over the last 45 years about Kevin is all the awards he received from his employer and how all he did was work, work, work. In March of this year, I recall Kevin calling me to let me know that he was retiring and moving to Coeur d'Alene, ID. I won't ever forget how happy he sounded—so full of hope.

I am still struggling to understand how things started so wonderfully in Coeur d'Alene for Kevin and then abruptly ended so disastrously just 9 months later. It all started 3 months ago when Kevin had opened his home and spare bedroom to a homeless man who was suffering from malnutrition and the cold. Kevin left the man unattended for a bit of time as he went to the store to get food for the guest. When Kevin returned from shopping, he discovered that the man had almost entirely destroyed the apartment and all of Kevin's belongings. Repair costs exceeded $10K, and Kevin's landlord evicted him. The eviction could not have occurred at a worse time as Kevin contracted severe pneumonia and has spent much of the past 2 months hospitalized and fighting for breath. Kevin's medical bills have been catastrophic and have exhausted all of his retirement funds. You see, during the flurry of transitioning from being employed to being retired, Kevin failed to submit the proper paperwork to effectively claim medical benefits.

Less than a year ago, Kevin owned a beautiful home in Texas hill country. Now he is homeless on the streets of Spokane, WA. While Kevin is a veteran, having served as both enlisted and officer in the Navy, he has been unable to secure any government benefits, including food stamps. A real dilemma is that Kevin made good money while he was working, which disqualifies him from many of the benefits enjoyed by the majority of US citizens.

Kevin has real goals for his retirement years, including starting his own company to help people find more free time in their hectic schedules and to be more productive with their free time. He would like to compete in all four styles of ballroom dance again, and he would like to compete in national bodybuilding championships at the age of 64.

All Kevin is asking for is the ability to pay for the $9,000 repairs to his last apartment and so that he can bring his medical bills current. Every little bit will help save Kevin's life.

For those of you who know Kevin, I ask you to consider how he treated everyone with kindness and a warm smile, and how he would go out of his way to help those in need. This is our time to pay it back. This wonderful man deserves our compassion. Your donations will be so helpful and should be sent to his PayPal account here.
