HELP KEVIN BAUER'S FAMILY
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carol and I am asking for you to consider providing a financial gift to help my (and so many other's ) dear friend, Kevin Bauer and his precious family for medical bills and expenses, rent/utilities and overall basic needs while Kevin fights to recover from this horrible tragedy. On September 10th, Kevin was on his way home from working another day with the same company that he's been consistently working for over 12 years to independently and fully support himself, Judy and their two boys. At approximately 4:00pm in the afternoon as he was attempting to enter the NB 51 while another driver ignored a stop sign and drove head on into Kevin's vehicle. The other driver was going SO fast and initial impact was SO intense that it set the other vehicle on fire and completely demolished the front end of Kevin's truck consequently having Kevin be involved in an immediate SECOND collision, sailing him at over 30 mph into the 15+ feet high concrete corner of the highway overpass. Kevin immediately recognized that he could not feel his legs and "it is bad", he was in and out of consciousness, he had multiple, deep gashes to his head, arms, legs he was emergency transported to the nearest triage center. Kevin was admitted and hospitalized into the ICU Unit. It has been medically confirmed that Kevin has multiple vertebra fractures, along with muscle and ligament tears in his neck. It was described by the Dr's that the location of the fractured vertebra and extent of fracture is SO severe that he was at risk of internal decapitation if he was to make a single wrong move. The Dr's opted to not undergo immediate surgery with it being too risky at that time, they wanted to isolate the area then reevaluate. While surgery is still possible, Kevin is yet experiencing extraordinary pain and struggles to improve. He continues to "fade out", struggles to communicate well and it is obvious that he has experienced severe brain trauma. At this time the doctors are all still closely monitoring his condition. He will have a very very long road to recovery and he and Judy have not yet been provided a prognosis to know if he will experience a full recovery or permanent disability.
If you know Kevin and Judy, you know that this is a man and family who thrives to help their family and friends, at the drop of a hat! He will selflessly do anything for anyone with no second thoughts. He's a kind, strong man who is now up against the biggest fight of his life. Their two boys have struggled hearing what has happened to their Dad (aka Hero) and seeing him in this condition has been traumatizing for them as well. Aside from the emotional trauma Kevin and his family are facing, Kevin has ALWAYS independently been an amazingly reliable, honest, hard-working man and the sole provider for his family. It is undetermined if or when Kevin may ever return to work. As we all know, rent/utilities/food/ medical/ gas ect ect continue and snowball as you get behind.
Let's NOT allow this family to get behind financially, not even a single bit. Let's come together to absolutely REMOVE the financial burden and stress from Kevin and Judy right now so they both can focus their energy on Kevin's care, his future appointments and hopeful healing. Judy and the boys have really done a phenomenal job over the past several days dealing with such a devastating loss and uncertain future. PLEASE, $5, $10 ... $100, even ONE dollar, it ALL helps. I am absolutely certain that if you read this far you personally have your own experience and story where Kevin has either personally helped you, made you laugh or you KNOW without the shadow of a doubt that he IS one of the few "solids" that you can count on that would help you if the tables were turned. Please consider donating to Kevin, Judy, Jon and Edwin while their "Daddy" "Husband" and provider fights to recover and while the darn insurance companies figure things out!!
