Help Kevin and His Family Save Their House From The Banks

Hi my name is Martina, I would like to start a go fund me page for a friend of mine who

is losing his family home. I have known Kevin Shanahan for about 9 years. Kevin is a

dental technician by trade. Kevin has 5 children, 3 little girls still living with him, Willow (5yo), Faye (3yo) and Jasmine (1yo). Kevin and Kath are about to lose their family home. There is a

court appearance in October but is looking to have it pushed back due to his ill health. Kevin has not received a single cent from social welfare

as when he applied 5 years ago, he was told he was not sick enough. Kevin has been

unable to return to work due to all the lasting effects of his cardiac arrests. A few years

Before lockdown Kevin and Kat went into Dublin on a Friday night to the homeless

people, he would go to the local Delis and get leftover food that was leftover and all

the Neighbors and friends and family would do clothes collections and Kevin and Kath

would go into Dublin on a Friday night and give out to the homeless, Kevin would offer

his services as a dental technician to the homeless who needed dentures, he could see

between 15 to 20 people on a Friday night looking after them and taking impressions for

dentures and seeing what he could do to help them in any way he could. He then would

spend a lot of hours and time making dentures for them and making a beautiful Smile

for them again. If they had nothing else, they had a beautiful smile when Kevin was

done with them, and some were so ecstatic. In October 2020 Kevin suffered his 1st

cardiac arrest and was dead for 47 minutes, his precious Daughter only a few months

old...Kevin came back from that experience and was left with broken ribs and a broken

Steinem. Life carried on and Kevin gradually started getting better. Then In 2022 just as

everything was getting better Kevin had a heart attack which landed him back in

hospital. Kevin and Kath struggled on. All be with the social welfare telling him that he

was not sick enough to claim Illness benefit!!They soldiered on as a family until March

of 2025, then Kevin had another cardiac arrest, he was dead for 93 minutes.....at this

stage they have 3 little girls and Kath was a full time Mammy and could not leave Kevin

on his own with the little ones incase anything happened when Kath was out, she could

not try get employment as Kevin was so sick. From his Cardiac arrest in 2025 Kevin

was left with a lot of lasting effects to this date including: Visible nerve damage to his

hands as in hand him a glass of water or a cup of tea and it's all over the floor. Nerve

damage in his left leg causing sleep disturbance. Broken Sternum from CPR, Multiple

broken ribs from CPR, Punctured left lung from broken ribs, Kidney failure Intermitting

Bleeding Damage to Bladder- Ongoing Loss of 85% of body muscle mass, PTSD,

memory loss and Depression.

Over the last 5 years Kevin has applied for disability or Illness benefit and it has been

disallowed because Kevin was self-employed before all his ill health came before him.

Kevin and Kath and now going to lose their home because they cannot afford their

repayments of their home!

Kevin has spent his whole life giving to others in need, whether it be his regular clients or hundreds of homeless people he used to tend to in his free time to give them back their smiles, now I believe its his time to be given back to.

I cannot imagine what they are going through right now as a couple with 3 babies, they

have been so good to others!
